Ranong Update

The young woman slowly raised her hand after the gospel was presented. She had heard the gospel message...and it's incredible power...was calling her to salvation. I was so moved to see God call this young woman to himself...when so few...of over a million Burmese refugees...have even heard the good news.

It was what happened next that caused me to weep. A young Burmese pastor knelt down before her and, with the flick of the knife, cut an amulet from her wrist. The amulet that she had worn from birth. The amulet that was meant to protect her from evil spirits. The amulet that held her captive to the Buddha. He prayed..."it is only Jesus Christ who is able to protect and bless you".

The angels rejoiced and one new child of God moved from the darkness into the marvelous light.

A fishing boat weaves its way through hundreds of islands on its way to the Andaman Sea.

We ran through the pouring rain to a raised floor bamboo hut lit only by candlelight. Twenty-five Burmese laborers on a banana plantation heard the gospel for the very first time.

Watch for our full report on how God is working here when I return from southern Thailand.
