Kenya's Ethnic Challenge

Fierce tribal clashes brought on by the disputed Presidential election have nearly ceased. At least 1,000 people were killed in the violence that followed the poll. A reported 600,000 Kenyan's have been displaced and over 60,000 are now in refugee camps across Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda.

There are encouraging reports of a possible agreement at talks between the government and opposition. Mediator Kofi Annan will give details of an agreement between the two sides on Friday.

Here is a picture of Kenya's larger tribes and the regions that they inhabit.

On A Personal Note.....

Renee and I are proud to announce the arrival of....two more grandsons!
Caleb William Koerber was born to Mike and Sharon on January 3. He weighed in at 8 pounds even.

"Grandma and Grandpa with Caleb"

Mark William Mayna
rd was born to Mark and Adrienne on January 18. He weighed 7 pounds, 14 ounces.

"Mark III...'Hey Grandma, where'd my bottle go?'"

Renee and I were able to be in Boston to meet Caleb just hours after he arrived and then we were off to Kings Bay, Georgia to be there just after "littlest" Mark's birth.

Neither made the deadline for 2007 deductions but we're sure glad they're here!
